CLIENT CASE STUDIES

AVANT SOLO

Conceived as a collaborative endeavor between Avant Design and HPL, SOLO aims to demonstrate the advanced design and visualisation capabilities we offer. SOLO is chiefly a visual study that explores the creative aspect of connective driving, and how it may be used to influence the emotional bond between man and machine.
Design
As with the project’s aim to unify driver and technology, SOLO’s design was developed with the same principle of unity. The amalgamation of classic proportions with contemporary surface language was key.
University collaboration
During an 8-week live project, we engaged with the Automotive Design students at Coventry University, to develop several interior concepts; After a process of review and consideration, 2 of the most successful concepts were selected to develop further, completing the SOLO design.

ROLLS ROYCE DAWN TONNEAU

After its unveiling at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the Aero Cowling Tonneau has become a must have for any Rolls Royce Dawn owner. Crafted from high quality materials including carbon fibre, aluminium and premium leather, the Dawn Aero Cowl creates the ultimate
two-seater experience. Fitting over the rear seats, the aero cowl funnels air for a heightened in cabin experience. Each Tonneau also comes with lockable compartments to store all on the go items and still allows access to the rear seats for even more storage room.

COVENTRY CITY OF CULTURE FOUNTAIN

The Smithford fountain centre piece was designed and manufactured as part of the Coventry City of Culture 2021 development. It represents a number of different heritage and present-day influences within the execution including:
Turbine Blades : Sir Frank Whittle who was born around a mile from the fountain.
Bicycle Wheel: From Coventry’s rich bicycle manufacturing heritage.
21 organic vanes: Representing the year 2021.
Sun with beams: Representing the life of the City Centre The chosen theme was part of a collaborative design program utilising students on summer placement at HPL from Coventry University Industrial Design course, with the design leader being a graduate of Industrial Design from Coventry University. The design was then executed in stainless steel using HPL apprentices and Coventry born technicians to celebrate the rich heritage Coventry has to offer.
